A 21-Day Character Reset · Olatunji Sobodu, Ph.D.
Fruit Over Foliage™
What God is actually looking for — and why leaves are not enough.
Fruit Over Foliage™ is a 21-day character reset built around two urgent books by Olatunji Sobodu, Ph.D. The first, Nothing But Leaves, confronts spiritual appearance without Christlike character. The second, The Leafy Leader, exposes the marketplace version of the same problem: visibility, activity, and results without the character to carry responsibility safely. Together, they make one argument with unavoidable clarity: God, people, organisations, and destiny are not ultimately nourished by leaves. They are nourished by fruit.
What This Is
21 days. One honest question each morning.
For 21 days, one short article-length reflection arrives in your inbox — each one built around a single passage of Scripture and a single diagnostic question about character, leadership, and what God is actually looking for. No homework, no worksheets, no performance. Only honest reading.
The journey begins with a short, honest self-check — ten statements that will tell you where you truly stand between leaves and fruit. At Day 22, there is an invitation to go deeper — through the books, through the audits, through a correction pathway — for those who are ready. Those who read all 21 reflections receive a Certificate of Completion.
The journey costs nothing. The honesty it requires costs everything.
The Argument in Three Statements
01
Leaves are convincing.
Religious activity, visibility, results, and charisma all look like fruitfulness from a distance. But when Someone genuinely hungry comes close enough to check, the difference becomes undeniable.
02
Fruit is character.
The fruit of the Spirit is not what you produce. It is who you are becoming. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control — these are the thing God is looking for.
03
The gap is closeable.
Fruitfulness is not a gift reserved for a few. It is the outcome of genuine abiding — of the slow, patient, daily work of formation that God is committed to completing in every willing life.
"And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves."
Matthew 21:19

What does God find when He comes near?
Rate each statement honestly. Be true — not impressive.

People who come close to my life experience more than my words, image, activity, or performance; they experience character that nourishes them.
My spiritual confidence rests more on Christlike character being formed in me than on what I do, say, lead, teach, post, perform, or produce.
When I am under pressure, my responses reveal patience, self-control, humility, truthfulness, and restraint rather than defensiveness, anger, manipulation, or panic.
The people closest to me would say that my private conduct is consistent with the public image I present.
I do not use activity, busyness, ministry, leadership responsibility, or professional results to avoid confronting weaknesses in my character.
I am willing to be corrected, pruned, slowed down, or reduced where my visibility has outrun my formation.
My results are not being achieved by fear, pressure, manipulation, exhaustion, ethical compromise, hidden resentment, or damage to people.
I handle truth well, especially when it exposes me, corrects me, delays me, or challenges the story I prefer to tell about myself.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are becoming increasingly visible in my ordinary life.
If God came looking closely today, I believe He would find real fruit growing in my life, not only impressive leaves.
